Franks Vintage Camera located at the Sunset Mercantile Emporium at 8th & Irving street, has been quite busy, supplying a regular shipment of 35mm, 120mm, Polaroid & Super 8 movie film to local Sunset Photographers.
In May of 2026, Franks Vintage Camera popped up at the Cole Valley Nights. The Sunset Mercantile Film Festival got its start, and will happen annually. And Frank’s Vintage was there to carry a fresh supply Super 8 movie & 16mm film cameras, movie film & special ‘Cinema Inspired’ film stock, movie memorabilia, film character hats & Cinema Inspired Jackets.
Since Franks Vintage does specialize in selling filmmaking tools to neighborhood students, I got to show some of my own student films at the Cole Valley Film Festival. “G-Man” made its debut & I won a 100.$ gift certificate from the Say Cheese boutique.
And there’s always going to my friend’s Super Shangri-La ‘Creature Feature’ like film experience at the Balboa Theater in the Richmond. Just brings ya back to your childhood love of scary Monster movies..
