About Frank’s Vintage Pop-ups
Frank’s Vintage Camera is a neighborhood pop-up, offering a specially curated bundle of vintage cameras, film, lenses, bags & mags. The Sunset neighborhood has lots of great things, nice spaces to live and work, open air markets, cool galleries and shops, great restaurants and the nearby beach. But it felt like it needed a classic camera shop presence. So I started Frank’s Vintage Camera, it’s kind of like those mom & pop camera shops where you could go in, check out the cameras & film in the showcase. You get to talk with people who know about photography. It’s lot more fun making your purchase right there in the shop where you'll receive continued customer service.
Mom inspired my first aspirations of being a National Geo photographer - - at the very least, pretending to be one, capturing photos of my cat in the backyard hunting her prey.
Later on in life, I lived and photographed in Tokyo, Japan. Was just so taken by the place, and brought my vintage ways with me - creating my own ‘1956 Tokyo Beat Photographer’ persona, Harold Jenkins. You could say I was having a ball with it.
This Fall, it’s been all about joining my vintage & DIY friends out at the local farmers markets and vintage fairs. There’s such a variety of original retro and handmade products, each vendor bringing their own style and passion to it. I’m happy to be apart of it, ‘gearing up’ the neighborhood with my specially curated collection of 35mm film cameras & film.
