Nampa Downtown Vintage

Over the 4th of July weekend, my wife and I found ourselves in Nampa Idaho, to celebrate this American holiday with our family there. And since Vintage style, thrift, second hand, are all about as Americana as it gets, I found myself stepping away to explore whatever Vintage Finds I could muster, in the back streets of downtown Nampa.

Since I’m working at both creating a Vintage Camera inventory for my SF Photo Pop-ups in Farmers Markets, I’m always showering through second hand stores and Goodwills in any town America. This time, my Aunt Peggy was kind enough to give me her 35mm film cameras, which still had film loaded in them. The only request she made was to have all the film developed and shoot her the results.

But it was the 4th of July weekend, so almost all vintage places were closed. My brother Fred and I took to the neighborhoods of Nampa, hitting some plentiful garage sales. Fred found some cool trinkets, and I found a denim jacket that I’ll add a Mission temporada de otoño (Fall Season) design to.

One fun take-away from the Nampa neighborhood vintage sales: The Sly Stallone shades like the ones he wore in the film, ‘Cobra’, well.. just couldn’t resist! I think Fred landed a pair too.
